NETFLIX ORIGINAL LOST IN SPACE · ART DIRECTION & DESIGN

Turning low appeal for sci-fi into curiosity through localization of Lost in Space

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Context

Sci-fi doesn't have broad appeal in the Indian market, so to promote Lost in Space, we made it more familiar—by dropping its alien, Robot, into Mumbai. In a playful social series, Robot did what any tourist would: sightseeing.

My Role

Led art direction, from handling a 950-pound robot in a studio shoot to scouting Mumbai’s landmarks for background plates, then compositing it all together.

Outcome

Netflix India’s Instagram lit up with praise for the creative approach, with fans calling out the iconic locations. Some even commented, "Give their social media team a raise!"
